Forty metres. That's the distance on record between BTS Thong Lo and Momo's door on Soi 53/1, which puts it about as close to a Skytrain platform as a door can be. Its own card starts at ฿2,200 for a 40-minute lotion massage and runs to ฿6,000 for two therapists, with nuru on a Japanese-style air bed in between.

It suits someone who wants nuru with a one-minute walk, has a favourite therapist in mind and books ahead on LINE. Skip it if you need a reliable reply to messages, or if a 4.2 rating gives you pause. The reviews split: a long run of five-star notes naming therapists, against a cluster of complaints about staff attitude and booking.

Momo sells two main things, according to its website: a lotion massage and nuru served on a Japanese-style air bed, in courses from 40 to 120 minutes. There are VIP rooms with a jacuzzi, offered as an add-on to either. A two-therapist session sits at the top of the card.

The listing gives English, Japanese and Chinese as languages, and Google reviewers back up at least two of them: one praises a therapist's English, another a therapist who speaks Chinese. Opinions on the rooms vary. One reviewer calls them quite new and good quality; another finds the room a bit dark; a third thinks the equipment looks a little old. A mama-san is on hand for advice, according to one regular.

Two things on it need a question. The ฿3,400 nuru line has no length attached, so ask how many minutes it buys. And the 120-minute NURU + VIP line is cheaper than plain 120-minute nuru, so check which one you're being quoted. One reviewer recommends 90 minutes of nuru over a shorter session; another thinks 90 minutes could be a little cheaper.

The website recommends reserving through LINE or by phone. Shops with a second therapist on the card are gathered in the four-hands volume, and jacuzzi rooms in the VIP rooms list.

Momo also sends therapists out. The website gives outcall hours of 12:00 to 21:00 and an area from Asok to Phra Khanong, and the card lists two outcall prices, ฿4,000 and ฿4,500, with no length given for either. Ask what each covers before you book one to your hotel.

BTS Thong Lo is about 40 metres away, a one-minute walk, and the website says the same. BTS Ekkamai is around 14 minutes on foot and BTS Phrom Phong about 19.

The shop opens at 10:00 and closes at midnight, every day. With the platform so close, a late session can still end on the last train if you time it. The Thonglor district page maps the rest of the area's shops.

Momo holds a 4.2 Google rating from 93 reviews, and the written reviews show why it divides opinion.

The five-star side is personal. Google reviewers often name their therapist, with Finny mentioned four times, Cartier three and Demi twice, and praise attentive, friendly service. One regular calls it a stop on every Bangkok trip; another calls it cleaner than any other shop on Sukhumvit, and one credits a session with easing sore shoulders.

The complaints are about staff and booking. Two one-star reviewers describe unpleasant, reluctant staff, one adding that messages on LINE went unanswered. A third, who had booked and showered, was told after a 15-minute wait that the therapist couldn't work, and points out the shop could have said so before the trip across town. Smaller notes include a dark room, ageing equipment and one reviewer who says the photos may differ slightly from the staff.
