Six hundred baht buys an hour of Vietnamese massage at Deluxe, the lowest price on a card that climbs to ฿5,000 for a two-hour VIP course. In between sit a 40-minute shower massage at ฿2,200 and an hour of nuru at ฿3,500.

It suits someone who wants a pampering session first: Google reviewers talk far more about ear cleaning, hair washing and face masks than anything else. It also suits a group of three languages, since English, Japanese and Chinese are listed. Skip it if you're after a late night, because the door shuts at 23:00, or if you want a shop that does nuru and nothing else.

According to its website, Deluxe combines a Vietnamese-style barber downstairs with a separate special massage menu. The Vietnamese sets are the barber side: reviewers describe ear cleaning, hair washing, shaving, foot scrubs and cucumber face masks. The nuru, shower and VIP courses are the other half of the house.

The website says the rooms are private and that a couple's course is available on request. It also mentions a special course for men that isn't on the published card and is booked through LINE. The listing gives English, Japanese, Thai and Chinese as languages spoken.

The two-hour Special Option is the odd one out: at ฿2,900 it costs less than an hour of nuru on its own. Ask what each part of it covers. Choosing a particular therapist costs ฿200, and one reviewer who paid it says it was worth it. The website offers ฿50 off for booking online.

Deluxe suits someone who wants a long, inexpensive grooming session, and the reader who'd like the barber set and the nuru on the same visit. The themes are unusual for a nuru shop. Google reviewers often mention the Vietnamese grooming services: ear cleaning, hair washing, shaving and face masks. Several call it clean, professional and good value, and one recommends the 90-minute ฿900 set. Therapists are named often, Mimi, Bowie and Smile above all.

The complaints are few and single. One reviewer says a beard trim was badly done and the receptionist unprofessional. Another says a therapist took a phone call mid-session and cut the time short. A third found the massage painful, and a fourth got their trousers wet during a foot scrub.
